Jetix was first launched as a programming block in the United States on Toon Disney on 14 February 2004, to compete with Cartoon Network's Toonami block, and in Europe in April 2004. By the end of 2004, Jetix began completely replacing the international Fox Kids channels around the world, the first being the French version in August 2004,and the last one being the German version, in June 2005.
In January 2004, Fox Kids Europe, Fox Kids Latin America (both of which were purchased by Disney in 2001 as part of Fox Family Worldwide) and the ABC Cable Networks Group agreed to rename its then current operations under a single brand, called Jetix,[which helped strengthen its then operations into a single force.
The Jetix name was applied to its programming blocks which aired on ABC Family and Toon Disney, its television channels in Europe and Latin America, along with its program library and merchandising. After Fox Kids went under in the US most of their programming ended up on Jetix.
Now that we've had a history lesson here's Josh's top 5 shows from the Jetix Era.
Power Rangers "The Disney Era": you know them and you love em. It's the power rangers. The Disney Era is widely regarded by many as the peak Era of power rangers due to its themes, ranger teams, and unique styles. I personally gave several of the seasons in my top 5 but the one that sticks out the most is obviously Dino Thunder. It features the return of tommy Oliver to the Morphing Grid as the black ranger, the dopest white ranger since Tommy himself, and alot of interesting takes on what life as a highschool crime fighter actually looks like compared to the other seasons.
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!
Another attempt by the United States to capture the essence of Power Rangers/Super Sentai in cartoon form. You take the main character a young boy named Chiro living in Shuggazoom City and you hand him super powers from the power primate , a giant robot, and a team of 5 colored robot monkeys with attitude and you've got 30 minutes of a good time.
Digimon (but specifically Digimon Frontier) you take one of the premiere kids cartoons when it comes to monster taming/catching and you add in the dramatic flair of power rangers and magical girl transformations and say hello to digimon frontier the only season where the kids were truly all about that action. 5 children are sent into the digital world to save it once again only this time they are the digimon as the must seek out and gain the powers of the legendary warriors ancient digimon who once fought for the safety of the digital world.
W.I.T.C.H
is an animated television series based on the Italian comic book series of the same name published by Disney Publishing Worldwide. The show follows five girls – Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin – who have respective magical powers over the classical elements quintessence, water, fire, earth and air, which they use to fulfill their duties as Guardians of the Veil. It takes place in the fictional city of Heatherfield and various mythical worlds, primarily Meridian. You take early 2000s teenage girl power, everything that makes magical girl anime what it is and a catchy girl rock anthem theme and you have my favorite ex girlfriends childhood obsession.
Medabots
In the future, the Medabots are a type of robot that are owned by different people and engage in Robattles. The theories and processes of the Medabots led to their creation at the hands of Dr. Eugene Aki, Professor Hushi, and Dr. Armond. In submission battles, the loser of the battle must give up one of their Medabots' parts ranging from their head, one of their arms, or their legs. The series centers around Medabots, artificially intelligent robots, whose purpose is to serve humans in a future time. The show begins with a ten-year-old (nine in the Japanese version) boy named Ikki Tenryō, who wants to become a champion of the World Robattle Tournament. The adventures of a friendship that on paper should've never happend, Ikki and Metabee take on the world of Medabots with comedic relief, Grit, and all the fight and integrity a 10 year old and a Sentitent Ai robot can muster.
And that'll do it for this time everyone. Thanks for peeping the blog hope I was able to jog some memories. Peace ✌🏾
