The Otaku Collective Podcast.

Hey Everyone! Since Reggie gave me the opportunity to self promo I'm going to do that a little bit.

My names Josh and for as long as I have been a conscious human being anime has been my main source of entertainment. From the likes of early american adaptations of Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Yugioh, Beyblade, and the classic 4kids and Toonami staples One Piece, and Naruto. To Seasonal 12-24 episode anime like Wistoria: Wand & Sword, Ben-To, Infinite Stratos, and Fate/Strange Fake. I've dived into anything and everything Japan has to offer.

With that I've made friends and memories alike. So one day me and two of my best friends decided to do something I've been wanting to do since 2013 start a podcast. Starting in September of 2021 we began doing a weekly podcast discussing our love of anime, sports, comics, movies, and random nonsense and its been an absolute blast. The beginning was a bit rough between audio quality and finding ourselves and our sound, but 4+ years, a co-host change, and 184 episodes later I think we've really gotten it down pack.

I just wanted to take the time to highlight the podcast with some of my favorite episodes so you guys can get to know us and tune into the future ones.

  1. The Debut of Ramen Aisle

This is to this day one of my favorite episodes. It's the first time reggie hops on the pod as we discuss his motivations in art and voice acting and how he got into anime.

  2. Those Snow White Notes Review.

This to this day is one of our most listened to episodes and I'm honored and confused by it. It's a 2021 Japanese anime series about a young, gifted shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese instrument) player, Setsu Sawamura, who loses his musical inspiration after his grandfather's death and travels to Tokyo to find his sound. The episode is just us talking about the anime, how surprisingly good the music was, and out frustration at it not being properly translated manga wise with no second season on the horizon.

  3. Anime Jeopardy

A great episode of anime jeopardy hosted by a good friend of the show where a absolute and clear winner gets bragging rights for the year.

  4. The First Ever Otaku Awards.

The title speaks for itself the first ever award show and it only gets better after this one. However, this being the first before we really know what we wanted to do makes it more special because it was raw and uncut fresh in our minds not as polished and that gives it a very unique perspective.

There's countless others but I think these four show a good perspective of who we were, are, and will continue to be as we grow and develop. Episode 200 is gonna mark alot of growth and change to the product so tap in now so you can say I knew them when. Thank you guys for checking out all my previous blog post, as well as possibly checking in on the podcast you can get anime reviews, reccomendations, and more all at the Otaku Collective Podcast. We've got a Facebook Page, a Twitter Page, and a tiktok.

  • Again Massive thank you to Reggie and the EatMoRamen brand for the opportunity, the collaboration and the free promo. See you guys on the other side.

Hey Guys! Josh here and this unfortunately is the penultimate blog post here on the site. Upper management has plans for the direction they want to head in and it's better to use resources elsewhere.
